The Plumas County Building Department is open to the public from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Our department is dedicated to providing the highest level of customer service, plan review, and inspection services to the building public with fairness, integrity, and professionalism. INSPECTIONS CAN BE SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTY EXCLUDING COUNTY HOLIDAYS.ĬONTACT THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT FOR ANY INSPECTIONS THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE DONE BY THE PHOTO INSPECTION POLICY BEFORE COVERING ANY WORK REQUIRING INSPECTION. There has also been great difficulty finding qualified applicants, which is an ongoing issue all employers within the County have been dealing with.īEGINNING AUGUST 1ST INSPECTION COVERAGE WILL BE GOING BACK TO A FIVE-DAY SCHEDULE FOR ALL AREAS OF THE COUNTY. Adding staff was considered, but the time it takes for one staff member to train a new staff member is lost productivity time, which under current conditions only adds to creating a backlog. Voice mails and emails sent on Fridays will be returned the following workweek during open office hours. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for members of the public wishing to contact the Planning or Building Departments, but after much consideration, staff felt this would be the best short-term solution to prevent a growing backlog. Building inspections will still be done on Fridays and the drop boxes are still available in Chester and Quincy. Staff will still be working those days to process permit applications. Beginning on May 6, 2022, the Planning and Building offices will be closed to the public on Fridays of every week until further notice. To give staff additional time to process either incoming or outgoing permit submittals without interruptions, it has become necessary to adjust our office hours.
There is no air conditioning but we followed the advice of the owners and the house stayed nice and cool even though it was a hot August weekend.Since the end of the Beckwourth and Dixie fires, the permit center at 555 Main Street, Quincy has experienced historic levels of phone calls, records requests, emails, and front counter activity creating a reduction of time being applied to permit intake and issuance. Traffic noise was minor and didn’t bother us as it quiets down to almost nothing at night. The furniture is very used and “lived” in (hey it’s a mountain cabin!) and the house could definitely use a deeper cleaning and window coverings especially to block out the morning light but still I’d give it a 4.9 out if 5 stars! The house is more remote than I thought and sits right on the windy road to Bucks Lake about 10 min away. Plenty of outdoor seating and a barbque (we didn’t use). There was also a third bathroom downstairs that was definitely convenient and a large deck accessed off the dining room that offered a beautiful place to soak up the fresh and cool mountain air. The downstairs living/dining room is also roomy and had a pretty view of the thick woods behind the house and the kitchen is was perfect with all needed items. The large family room is also upstairs which includes a little piano room with two futons, the fireplace seating area that would be so cozy to gather in during the winter and a television area that our boys loved as they were able to play video games away from the adults visiting downstairs. All bedrooms are upstairs with a huge master bedroom with huge soaking tub.
